Opportunities for Otsego
Our philanthropy is Opportunities for Otsego. Opportunites for Otsego was founded to encourage economic stability, social justice, and the promotion of healthy lives and families in the Otsego County. They provide Early Childhood Services: Building Healthy Families, Early Head Start, Head Start, The Children's Center, and Universal Pre-Kindergarten. They also provide Energy Services, Health & Nutrition Services, and Victim Services.
An event we put on throughout the year is a weekly trip to Robynwood, an Assisted living facility. Each week we play Bingo with some of the residents there. We also participate in the annual Into the Streets that SUNY Oneonta's Center for Social Responsibility and Community sets up. In addition we participate in Relay For Life, a fundraiser to fight against cancer. This year we raised $7,820! Lastly, we fundraise throughout the year for various causes. In the past we have fundraised for the Special Olympics, Ending Substance Abuse, the Oneonta School District's Backpack Snack Program, and others.
